Web Design

During an initial consultation, we will ask you about your preferences for the colours, style and layout of your web site and make recommendations to help you. At this meeting we will take a small deposit from you. If possible, you should have a copy of your web-site text available on floppy disk or CD-ROM (in any commonly used format) for The Computer Boffin to take away from this consultation. Otherwise, if you prefer, you may send your text to us, using electronic media, within four weeks (*see notes). When we receive your text documents, we will produce the web-site according to your preferences. Each finished page may contain graphics and/or pictures according to your requirements. You may supply your own pictures or digital photos in any commonly used PC format, or select from any of the free web sites listed on our links page.  We can arrange an interim consultation to show you what your web site will look like and give you the opportunity to make any minor improvements (*see notes). Following this interim meeting, we will produce the final version for you on CD-ROM.

The fee for designing and producing your web site includes:

• Initial consultation with you to discuss your preferences for each page
• Recommendations for layout from our Web Page Designer
• Preview of your 5-page “Microsoft FrontPage” web-site including:

1. As many hyperlinks on each page as you require
2. Graphics and/or pictures on each page.
3. Links to your e-mail address on any or all pages.
4. Your colour and style preferences for the background and text of each page.

• Interim consultation to allow for minor formatting amendments of the draft (*see notes)
• Final version of 5-page web site produced on CD-ROM.

When you have your web site on CD-ROM, The Computer Boffin can even upload this to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for you, if you wish, subject to a fee charged at The Computer Boffin's hourly rate (*see notes). You should ensure you know your ISP username and password for this purpose.

The Computer Boffin start-up web design service does not include Domain Name Registration, Web Page Hosting or Internet Service Provision.

Notes

* Minor improvements and formatting amendments mean background colour changes or font changes only. We can accommodate other changes, such as text, layout, or link changes subject to an additional fee. This will depend on the number and type of changes and will be charged at The Computer Boffin hourly rate.

* Should you not provide your web site text and/or pictures within four weeks of the initial consultation, The Computer Boffin reserves the right not to continue with production of your web site. In this event, no further fees will be payable but the deposit will not be refunded.

*If your requirements change between the interim consultation and your receipt of the final web page, The Computer Boffin reserves the right to charge for additional costs incurred.
